Indian navy invites application for candidates to join Indian Navy as a sailor twice a year. For that it conducts the examination called AA and SSR. It is a non-commissioned level examination for the recruitment of unmarried male candidates for enrolment as sailors for Artificer Apprentice (AA) and Senior Secondary Recruits (SSR).The first phase of the examination is online test and those who pass this will be qualified to go for the next round which is Physical Fitness test. AAs are technically educated for the design of ships and submarines and SSRs are those who work on the naval ship and also act as a helping hand.

The marking scheme for Navy SSR Exam is +1 for each answer. There will be No Negative Marking in SSR Navy Exam which means no marks deduction will occur in case of the wrong answer.

A student passed with subjects Physics, Maths in class 12th.
A student must have passed with 60% Aggregate Marks in Science Stream (PCM) with subjects Physics, Maths and at least one of these subjects Chemistry/Biology/Computer science.
A person having foreign citizenship cannot apply for AF Y Group but If He/She has Indian passport and documents supporting his/her claim of Indian citizenship then they can apply for Navy SSR Exam.
22 Weeks Basic Training followed by Professional training in the allotted trade in various Naval training establishments.
Depending upon a person’s understanding and approach level the toughness level of Navy AA/SSR Exam varies from moderate to difficult.
